Team Profiles

karen-tindall-200wKaren Tindall – Manager, School of Cycling

After starting in administration and accounting, Karen has been in the tertiary education sector for over 15 years. She worked in a number of roles within the University of Waikato for 12 years, including Community/Adult Education as an education advisor, developing and managing delivery of non-credit courses to the community.

She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies from the University of Waikato, and is currently working through a Level 5 Diploma in Quality Assurance through the Open Polytechnic.

Karen joined Cornerstone Education in 2011 as Student Support and Coordinator for the NZIM Certificate in Management (Level 4) programme, and has recently been promoted within Cornerstone Education to Manager of the School of Business, and Manager of the School of Cycling.

Frank-Clavis-200wFrank Clavis – Tutor, School of Cycling

Frank started with us in 2015, and tutors the Level 3 and Level 4 programmes.

Frank has been in the bicycle industry for more than 50 years. He began with Hope Gibbons, then NZ’s largest bicycle distributor, and completed his apprenticeship. During the 70s, Frank began custom making BMX bikes at Bunnythorpe, making what became known as the Pantha BMX – 700 of them every month.

He has since covered almost everything in the industry – retail, distribution, manufacturing – you name it.
