Do you already have years of bike mechanic knowledge, experience and skills? If so, we can fast-track you through the Level 4 Certificate.

Qualification: The Certificate in Bicycle Mechanics Level 4

  • Yes, if you want formal recognition of your skills and experience from your industry and from the NZQA

5 Quick Facts about the Certificate in Bicycle Mechanics Level 4

  1. At the end of the course you will be able to:
    • Diagnose, overhaul and rebuild bicycle system componentry (including frames, steering, suspension, drive train, braking, and wheel and hub)
    • Option 1: Design and build specialist bicycles or componentry and/or
    • Option 2: Deliver and assess on-the-job training (to those working through level 3 in your workplace)
  2. This process will consist of:
    • Application (you provide us with information about your skills in the application form)
    • Evidence (we’ll collect evidence from your workplace to prove your experience)
    • Assessment (we’ll test your skills during a few days of block courses)
  3. Course costs have not yet been finalised but will be around $500 (thanks to some heavy subsidisation!)
  4. Student loans and allowances are not available
